Made From Scratch Tuesday 8/2

A couple of weeks ago, some of you voted on which cookbook you wanted me to cook from. The cookbook receiving the most votes was What's for Dinner? One of the reasons I love GP is I can download free cookbooks on my Kindle. And if you like free cookbooks....keep reading for details on how you can win this one!

This is my first of 10 recipes from this cookbook. When I cook my way through ten, I'll be giving away a copy of the cookbook! So for the first recipe, I let the husband pick. Here's what he chose:

I've never made chicken in my crockpot, so I was a little iffy on this on, but I have to say, it turned out great!
I started by putting 3 lbs of chicken wings in a broiler pan and broiling them for 5 minutes on each side. Then, I added them to the crockpot, set on low. In a bowl, I mixed up barbecue sauce, mustard, Worcestershire sauce and honey.
Next, pour that mixture over the wings and mixed it around a bit.

Let it cook for 2-2 1/2 hours.

Beautiful, messy wings! And honestly, wings just aren't wings unless they're messy. The kids had NO complaints, although the girls opted to wear their aprons while eating.

Next up in the GP series...

P.S. If you like winning things, make sure you check out the latest from The Real Farmwives of America.

Now, it's time to link up some of those great dishes you make from scratch!
Here are the rules:
1. You can link up as many posts as you'd like.
2. My only content rule is it has to be made from scratch.

3. The post you link up MUST CONTAIN A RECIPE!
4. If you want to put my button somewhere, that'd be cool. You can grab the code for the Made From Scratch Tuesday button on the top right of my sidebar.

Hi Jen

I love cookbooks so I am going to be keeping an eye on this column! :-)

Speaking of which - I linked up a cookbook I reviewed and am giving away this week. I hope you don't mind - I do hope to share a recipe from the book soon but the post was getting a little long. Best of luck in the contest and have a fabulous week!

Hi there.

I have to apologize. My son helps w/ me linkups and he didn't notice that you require a recipe. So my "preserving herbs" post doesn't have a recipe in it. I am sharing also my coconut milk recipe. Feel free to delete the first post.

Thanks and sorry!

I just discovered this party, and I am a day late; but thought you might like my Frozen Peaches and Cream Crisp. It is made with homemade No-Machine Ice Cream. It can be made with other fruits and berries and is gluten free if GF oats are used. Looks like a great party. I love "from scratch" and post many DIY recipes on my blog. Thanks for hosting this party. I will be back.
