A Little Catching Up

I've bee MIA for a few weeks. It started out just by missing a week here and there, then that turned into two weeks, then three and, well, you know how it goes. I've just been busy lately! For the first time in years, I've had energy and drive to really get things done.

To make a long story short, back in March my allergist diagnosed an infection I've probably had for years. I have been feeling like crap for a couple of years now and my family doctor told me I needed to lose weight. She didn't seem to understand I physically did not have the energy to get up off my butt! However, my allergist knew within 3 minutes of conversation what the problem was. I'm on my third month of this medication and I feel great!

Much to my husband's delight, I've gone fishing with him several times already this year!
He's been catching them left and right!

My dad has gone with us a few times as well.

They have great luck....here's what I catch:

Maybe I should stick to cooking.

I've also been busy in the garden. The recent heat has really helped the garden grow!

Above: tomatoes at about a month
Below: Potatoes at 3 weeks
Broccoli at two months
 We finally have tomatoes now!

Also learned a valuable lesson in composting. When you toss your jack-o-lanterns into the compost box, don't be surprised when pumpkins grow in your herb garden!!!

I think I'm going to officially put Made From Scratch Tuesday on hiatus for now, but I'll try to make some time for blogging this summer!

Glad to hear the allergist was able to help you! I'm thinking I should probably make that visit ... have had sinus issues for oh, 4 to 5 months now. Good grief, I despise post nasal drip!

I was wondering what happened to you! Glad things are better. Many people do not realize how many different allergies there are, and how they can affect how you feel. And infection can def. zap all of your energy. I've been dealing with allergies my entire life, and unfortunately, they seem to be getting worse with age! I really miss having a garden this year, we are moving so I didn't plant one :(
